A.O. Ημέρα πρώτη ICT Tools, Limmasol, Cyprus

Hi. I am Arek Ochmanski. I have been teaching geography to young people at Andrzej Strug V Secondary School in Gliwice for 2 years. Today I have started a course about ICT tools in teaching, which takes place in Limmasol, Cyprus. I am taking part in the Erasmus+ (school project THE FUTURE IS US) because I want to meet teachers from all over Europe and improve my competences on online tools that I can use in my lessons in the new school year. I have never been to Cyprus, which is why I chose a sunny and beautiful island in the Mediterranean for the location of the course. I make no secret of the fact that I want to get to know the local people, monuments and natural features of this interesting country. For a geography teacher, this is a great adventure :). About the course? The course started today, 1 July 2024, at 9am at the English Learning Centre in Limmasol. During the class we discussed the role of ICT in 21st century education. There were also practical activities. Our tutor Nikolas introduced us to the website en.islcollective.com - where you can create lesson plans, power point presentations and video lessons using YouTube.com videos. Nikolas taught us how to create quizzes that test mastery of the content of educational videos on YouTube. A useful tool for activating students during lessons. The course will last 12 days and promises to be very interesting. Mr Nikolas is a very kind, helpful and competent teacher.
